TASK 1
INTRODUCTION
When we are babies we love to do scratches and lines on any support. AS a child we express ourselves filling and colouring spaces, making tactile textures or designing collages. As teenagers we draw trying to reflect our inner and complex world.
In this task you have to do 2 activities consisting on analysing a range of compositions.

In this task you have to do 2 activities consisting on analysing a range of compositions.
1st ACTIVITY
HOW TO DELIVER THE ACTIVITY
One of the members of the team (chosen by the team) would write the comments on google classroom of arts and crafts for each team.
Later you have to take pictures of the drawings you have analysed and upload them on classroom or say the images of this section you have analysed.
- Each team has to select compositions done during infant and primary education, during last course (1st ESO) and this course to see your evolution. If you haven't brought your own compositions, you can use the ones we propose you to do the activity. We have put them as examples in this part. You have to choose two images done by students in their childhood and other two done nowadays, during ESO.
- With these images all the members of the team together have to do an OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS (denotative) of the making off (look carefully the technique they have used and how they have build the composition: dots, lines, colour taches, textures, strokes, patterns, colour shading, colour ranges (warm and cold), colour harmony or contrast) and the composition (symmetry, outline, silhouette or dintorno, depth resources.....).
- After that, you have to do a SUBJECTIVE ANALYSIS (connotative) remembering ideas, messages, feelings, emotions, etc. you wanted to personally transmit in each composition or what you think the author wanted to reflect.

TASK 2
INTRODUCTION
Secondary school is an environment where we develop our personality and where we discover interests, worries, points of view, plans, .... This makes us reflect and question ourselves about so many subjects and to answer and give opinion about it. All these things can be done in Arts & Crafts.
ACTIVITY TO DO
Now you are aware that images can be created for many goals (apart from the aesthetic one), you have to do an artistic composition to convey a message and an intention.
You have to start from ideas and issues that bother or interest you. With this image you can claim, educate, provoke in a constructive way, protest, inform, reflect a feeling, a mood..... and you have to make the spectator regarding your work think.
Look the following EXAMPLES to get inspired before starting your own creations.
This is one of the best known works made by Banksy. Remember last year a group of students represent it on the blackboard wall in the hall.
These images show the rejection to bullying and cyberbullying on social networks. First one was represented by your classmate David Párraga.
This interesting image makes us reflect about Nature destruction by humans and its possible consequences.
Stimulating images inviting us to plunge into reading a book.
This poster makes rare diseases visible and makes us be aware of them.
This poster makes us aware of gender-based violence.
STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED TO DEVELOP YOUR OWN WORKS
- Before starting, remember it is really important in this challenge to have an order when working, the correct use of materials and caring the school's facilities (classes, corridors and baths). Negative behaviors (by any of the team members) would negatively influence the final mark.
- Each team has to draw sketches about an idea, a message or a purpose you want to depict in your compositions. Think how you are going to solve them (lines, taches, artistic techniques, colours, colour ranges, contrast, warm or cold colour ranges, using compositional sketches, etc).
- You are going to use traditional school artistic techniques as you want: charcoal, sanguine, temperas, aquarelles, wax colours, pastels, ink with paint brush, markers, colour pencils, collage, papers....
- VERY IMPORTANT: DELIVERY OF MATERIALS AND WAY TO STORE THEM
Golden, silver and metalized temperas and inks would be always with the teachers. If you want to use them you have to talk with them.
At 6th hour (or the hour you have to finish arts & crafts project a certain day) the correspondent of each team, has to store all the materials and tools the team has been using, as well as the palettes, in a plastic bag with the name of the team written on it, so you can take them again the following day.
At 6th hour you also have to clean and tidy the place where you've been working. The works has to be stored in the class till next day.
- WORKING PLACE
- SHOWING YOUR WORKS
At the end of the morning, teachers would pick up the boxes of materials.
- DELIVERING COMPOSITIONS
Once you have finish the composition, take pictures and upload on your group's arts and crafts classroom. After the presentation and before doing the individual on-line evaluation of the challenge, each correspondent would bring the works to the big table in the hall. After this the teachers would carry them. Put the names of all the members of the team, please.
- QUALIFICATIONS
CREATIVITY IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR FINAL RESULTS, MUCH MORE THAN DRAWING ABILITY. YOU ARE ALL EXPRESSING YOURSELVES MAKING ART.
